Woman Seriously Hurt After Crashing Into Tree

Morris Twp. woman was pinned inside vehicle, report says.

A Morris Township woman was hospitalized with serious injuries after a single-car crash in the early morning hours of Wednesday.

According to nj.com, Dana Posey, 32, crashed into a tree on Sussex Avenue near Bradford Court, and needed a “lengthy extrication” to be removed from the vehicle.

Posey was wearing her seatbelt and the airbags deployed, but the car was pinned to the tree, the report said. The crash occurred around 1:50 a.m. Wednesday. An investigation revealed Posey was traveling eastbound on Sussex Avenue when she lost control of the vehicle, the report said.

Posey was then taken by Morris Minute Men First Aid Squad to Morristown Hospital with serious injuries, the report said.

Police are investigating drugs and/or alcohol as a potential factor, according to the report.
