Christie Arrives at Delbarton Baseball Game in State Police Helicopter

Arrived to see son play at St. Joseph Regional High School in Montvale.

Gov. Christie arrived by state police helicopter Tuesday afternoon at St. Joseph Regional High School in Montvale for the school's baseball game against Delbarton. Christie's son Andrew plays for Delbarton.

Responding to a question from Patch about the use of the helicopter to attend the game, Christie spokesman Michael Drewniak said, "It is a means of transportation that is occasionally used as the schedule demands. This has historically been the case in prior administrations as well, and we continue to be judicious in limiting its use."

Hey folks, our sister site, Ridgewood Patch, actually just sent us this addition, addressing the same point: Responding to a question from Patch about the use of the helicopter to attend the game, Christie spokesman Michael Drewniak said, "It is a means of transportation that is occasionally used as the schedule demands. This has historically been the case in prior administrations as well, and we continue to be judicious in limiting its use."

I wonder how much it cost and how many teachers we could have hired for the same money?

Gigi: he wouldn't know, since his children attend private school, and there's no way on earth he has any idea what the majority of actual teachers make in our state. However, he could likely equate it to Big Macs or Chicken McNuggets, topics near and dear to his fat-encased heart.

"In 2000, [Gov.] Swift paid a $1250 fine after admitting using a state helicopter as personal transport to her home in the western part of Massachusetts." http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jane_M._Swift I won't stop talking about this until McChristie repays the entire cost of this trip to the state coffers, and hopefully his political "straight talking" is denounced as just so much more blathering and rhetoric. WE THE PEOPLE DO NOT TAKE HELICOPTERS AFTER COMPLAINING ABOUT BLOAT IN GOVERNMENT. one can presume I'll be talking for the entire time that grimace is in office.

and since his children go to private school he had no hesitation about screwing the public school teachers with his budget cuts last year b/c it didn't affect his family!!
