Five Things You May Need to Know About Morris Twp.
Commuters, people who use taxis, and others need to know some things that happened at the township committee meeting

1) There is a corridor study
The county is conducting a study of accessiblity and parking at the NJ Transit stations in Convent Station, Madison and Chatham. The township was involved in the selection of a consultant. The study is imminent, but has not started yet.

2) Collection for food pantry
The township is still collecting for the Interfaith Food Pantry. Non-perishable foods may be taken to the municipal building. Perishable foods must be taken to the Interfaith Food Pantry at the Greystone site.

3) The storm was a disaster
Harvey Klein, the Office of Emergency Management coordinator for the township told the committee and audience 75 percent of storm damage expenses will be covered under the new FEMA disaster declaration. He also demonstrated a radio for emergency alerts and information sponsored by the Red Cross. It is solar-powered and receives AM, FM and the weather band.
4) Trees will be replaced
Residents were concered about trees being removed on a corner property on Speedwell Avenue, but Mayor H. Scott Rosenbush said a fence will be erected and another buffer put in between the commercial and residential sites.
5) Taxi licenses
Taxi licenses were re-issued to: Gerald Rosner of Comfort Cab; J&J Taxi and Limo; Thomas M. Byrne of TMB Transport, Inc.; Charlie L. Peoples of Peoples TAxi; Terrence Portis of Terry's Taxi; Harding Private Livery Service, Inc.; Donald K. Piermont, and Arthur Ritter of A.R.T.S., LLC, Taxi.
