Gov. Chris Christie Heads to Morris Plains Saturday

All members of the public are encouraged to come out and meet him

Expect Morris Plains VFW Post 3401 to be crowded this Saturday night. Gov. Chris Christie will be there at 6:30 p.m. for a political rally. 

"I'm excited and honored that the governor would come to Morris Plains," said Mayor Frank Druetzler. "There's a big buzz in town and we're looking forward to a wonderful event this Saturday."

The Borough sent out an email alert letting all citizens know that they are invited to attend and meet the governor. Morris Plains VFW Post 3401 is located at 45 Tabor Road.

The Morris Plains Police department planned ahead of time and asked Johnson and Johnson to open up their parking deck for overflow parking

"The state police handle all of the advance work and (the governor's) safety," said Morris Plains Police Chief Scott Thompson. "We have officers working for crowd control and we can bring in more if we need to."
