Grace Period for Q3 Taxes in Morris Township

Bills delayed, will go out this week.

The following announcement from the Morris Township tax collector's office was received from township administrator Tim Quinn:

Please note that due to a delay in receiving a certified tax rate, the 2011 final / 2012 preliminary tax bills are late in being mailed.

The bills will be mailed during the first week of August with an extended grace period of September 2, 2011.

If you need your 3rd quarter payment amount before you receive your bill, you may call our office at (973) 326- 7399 and we will be happy to assist you.

Please also note the following:

Third quarter 2011 payments must be received in our office by September 2, 2011. Postmark is not accepted as per state law. There is a mail slot in the front of our building for after hour payment drop offs.

Any payment received after September 2, 2011 shall bear interest back to August 1, 2011 at an interest rate of 8% for the first $1500.00 and 18% for every balance thereafter.

If you receive a bill that states “this is not a bill, for advice only” but are responsible for payment, please use this bill to pay from. No other bill will be sent.
