Message From Township Officials: Extra Brush Collections Started

Storms have resulted in large number of downed branches.

The following announcement was sent by Morris Township officials:

Friends & Neighbors:

In the aftermath of Irene, there is a significant amount of tree limbs and branches down around the Township.  In an effort to remove these limbs and branches from your yards, the Morris Township Department of Public Works have had crews picking up yard waste and concentrating on large brush pick-up on the east side of the Township this week.

On Saturday, September 10, 2011, the crews will be concentrating on the west side of township because it's closest to the disposal site and we can get more done with the men on overtime.

Please bring your yard waste, tree limbs and branches to the curb line and make sure they are not blocking any storm sewers or roadways.

PLEASE DO NOT add grass clippings to the piles of tree limb and branch piles as it increases our costs for removal.

Crews will be out this Saturday and throughout next week for collection. We will continue to devote resources to get the brush removed as expeditiously as possible.

Should you have any questions or concerns, feel free to call the Department of Public Works at 973-326-7398 Mon-Fri 6 a.m. to 3:30p.m.
