Morris Township Mayor: I'd Move Road to Build Field

Open space proposal for Honeywell campus revealed at Planning Board meeting.

Morris Township Engineer Jim Slate presented at Monday night's Planning Board meeting the first draft of a plan for a 13- to 14-acre open space project on Honeywell campus.

Resident Lee Goldberg took a video of Slate's presentation that described the possiblities that the land could be used for near the back of Honeywell by Kahn Road.

Mayor Peter Mancuso said the area could be used for a sports field and senior center.

"I think a very, very important thing is that we could build a full-size football/soccer field in that area and I would do anything possible, including moving the road to make it possible."

Slate said when organizers made the plan, they maximized the area for use to come up with the sports field area.

The Township Committee will meet Wednesday night when a will be given about the company's latest communication improvements.
