Morristown & Morris Township Library Awarded Preservation Grant

Grants to total $280K.

Mayor Tim Dougherty of Morristown read a letter from the New Jersey General Assembly at Tuesday's Council meeting, announcing the award of historical grant funds to  The Church of the Redeemer was also awarded funds.

Signed by Sen. Anthony Bucco Sr. and Asm. Anthony Bucco Jr. and Michael Patrick Carroll (all R-25), the letter dated April 28 stated, "we were delighted to receive notification from the Office of the Governor, that The Church of the Redeemer and Morristown Library in your Municipality were awarded Captial Preservation Grant II's. $250,000 was awarded to the Church and $279,737 to the Library.

"The award will afford The Church of the Redeemer the ability to preserve history within your community and the Library will continue with its restoration project."
