Pool Party: Entire Borough Invited

Be cool at the Morris Plains Community Center Pool.

Saturday is a special occasion at the Pool, when even non-members are welcome to enjoy the facilities.

The pool, home of the storied Marlins swim team, which hasn't lost a meet in years, will be hosting a "Splash Party" on July 16 from 6:30-9:30 p.m. All Morris Plains residents are welcome.

A deejay will be dropping beats, and Ronnie's All-American Bar-B-Que with cater the event. There is a entry fee of $5 for children and $10 for adults.

The pool's assistant manager, Chrissy Chase, said that pool rules will be relaxed for one day only. Children will be allowed to use pool toys for this special occasion, which is usually not the pool policy.

"It's a special party and families have a lot of fun, because it's open after dark."

So, if you want to stay cool or just be cool on Saturday night, and you don't have a pool, or a pool membership, head over to the Community Center Pool.

Eat, drink and be merry- and swim with family and friends!

I can not believe you used such horrible pictures! There's no water in the pool and the lawns are not cut. Nothing in the pictures are inviting at all because these pictures were taken before the pool was even prepped for the season opening . I may be prejudice but my husband and all the men at the Morris Plains DPW work hard to open this pool every year. The folks that work the pool and the snackbar work hard to make the Community Pool experience a pleasant and memorable one. You should be ashamed to use these photos especially for an open invitation to the town to come and enjoy themselves for what our community has to offer for summer fun. Please go take another visit today and see exactly what the Community Pool really looks like! ...and post those photos instead.

Daryl... easy to fix. The pool does look GREAT! Want to do it justice! The Morris Plains DPW did an awesome job! The pool looks OCEAN BLUE! The new benches and chairs... Tables with umbrellas should make a lot of families happy! We've been members for 7 years and always enjoy the Morris Plains Community Pool! Each year they seem to improve. The slide was a nice touch. Though small our kiddie pool is one of the nicest in the County! Hope lots of residents show up to the party, and join next year. It's really worth it! Why spend all that time in traffic heading to the shore when we have such an inviting cool spot right here in Morris Plains! Thanks for the tip!

Thanks for letting us know, Troy! I try to keep up with the town events, especially during the summer, but had no idea they were having this event on Sat. I don't know how I missed the announcement. See you there.

Thanks for pointing that out, Daryl. We also let readers post additional photos to most articles on the site, so if anyone has better photos of local locations than the ones we took we're happy to show them.

Thanks Troy for the fabulous pictures! Makes you want to dive right in! BTW the announcement was in the May 2011 edition of "PLAINS TALK" on page 7. There is also a banner on the announcement board at Robert's Gardens for the past couple of weeks.
