Saturday Recycling Is Back in Morris Township

New hours begin on July 2.

Saturday hours at the Morris Township recycling center are back. Starting July 2, the center will be open from 7 a.m. to 2 p.m. every Saturday, in addition to its normal Monday-Friday schedule.

According to Timothy Quinn, township administrator, "It was eliminated last summer due to budget cuts. We now are able to reinstate it without incurring overtime costs."

Quinn said that, in addition to recyclables, yard waste can also be brought to the center.

The Recycling Center is located on Jane Way, just outside the entrance to Frelinghuysen School.

In April, the township was able to resume brush pick-up once per month, another service that had been eliminated during the belt-tightening of 2010.
