See Morris Plains Appreciate Beauty

The community of caring bestows 'highest honor' to the Beautification Committee.

They were reluctant to come up in front of the packed house of friendly faces to receive their award.

Perhaps they were embarrassed by all of the praise coming from Morris Plains Mayor Frank Druetzler (see the video attached to this post), or perhaps it was because they prefer to allow their work out in the community speak for itself.

Regardless, with a little cajoling the assembled members of the Morris Plains beautification committee accepted their community service award with very little fanfare and were acknowledged with applause for their efforts in 2013 by a grateful community.

Accepting the award on behalf of her team, President of the Beautification Committee Sue McArdle said they enjoy their work and thanked the borough for the budget to do it.

She also extended the invitation for more volunteers.

"We can always use an extra pair of hands," McArdle said.
