Site Work Will Continue at Gas Station

Committee contracts with consultants to complete clean up

The Morris Township Committee contracted with Eikon Planning and Design, LLC, of Hackettstown to continue remediation of a contaminated gas station site.

The Pecar Mobile station at 207 Speedwell Ave. is the subject of a No Further Action memorandum by the state Department of Environmental Protection, but some areas not covered in that memo still need analysis, Deputy Mayor Bruce Sisler said.

Sisler said underground oil tanks, a drywell, a waste oil tank and groundwater was monitored and signed off on in 2010, but some other issues arose in 2011.
