Computer Classes for Adults

Morris Plains HSA sponsors classes at Borough School

The Morris Plains Home and School Association is sponsoring computer classes for adults in the Computer Lab.

Registration is $40 per class and the forms are on the school district website. To register, send the form with a check payable to MPHSA via “backpack mail.” Mark the envelope “HAS–Computer Class” and “Attention Mrs. Kenneweg.” Include an email address on the registration form because confirmation will be sent by email. The maximum enrollment of each class is 25.

The registration fee will benefit the computer lab.

Classes will be taught by Lisa Kenneweg and Scott Curcio.

Word 2010 for Beginners will be taught on Monday, March 5 from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Topics include creating a new word document; typing and deleting text; exploring the toolbar; saving, opening and closing files; changing font sizes, shapes and colors, copying and pasting text and printing documents.

Power Point for Beginners will be Tuesday, March 6, from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Topics include adding/deleting/formatting slides; different font sizes, shapes and colors; inserting clip art; varying backgrounds, animations and transition effects; previewing your Power Point, playing and/or presenting.

Publishing for Beginners will be taught on Monday, March 12 from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Topics include creating a resume, greeting card, flyer, brochure, etc.; adding, deleting and manipulating text boxes; typing and deleting text; adding backgrounds, colors and images; changing font sizes, shapes and colors.

Excel for Beginners will be taught on Wednesday, March 14 from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Topics include introduction to Excel 2010; explore the Excel workbook; enter/edit/modify cells and data; format spreadsheet/workbook; create a chart; printing a spreadsheet workbook.
