Many celebrations on graduation weekend.

The Class of 2011 graduated on June 5, 2011 surrounded by proud family members, the monks of St. Mary's Abbey and the Delbarton faculty. Click here for the list of Commencement award winners, and here for the Class of 2011 College List.

On Friday, June 4, 2010 the class and their families shared a Baccalaureate Mass and Dinner. Senior Class president Ryan Poehner served as an able master of ceremony at the dinner. Valedictorian Nicolas Luzarragagave an excellent speech, followed by remarks from salutatorian Adam Suczewski. Guests also enjoyed the AP Art Exhibit during the evening.

June 5, 2011 graduation day dawned hazy and mild, with no serious threat of rain. Graduates reported to the Senior Garden at 2:30 pm wearing jackets and the Delbarton ties they were given at graduation rehearsal. They pinned on School crest lapel tacks and were ready to lead the a procession of Delbarton faculty into the Abbey Church. Graduation speaker Rev. Jonathan DeFelice, OSB, President of St. Anselm College in Manchester, NH, brought up the procession's rear with Headmaster Br. Paul Diveny, OSB and Abbot Giles Hayes , OSB.

Inside the Church the first order of business was the presentation of diplomas, followed by awards and Delbarton medals, then Fr. Jonathan DeFelice's keynote address. Abbot Giles gave the benediction and the crowd followed the graduates into the Senior Garden for the post graduation reception. Picture taking was the order of the day, and the fountain was the favorite photo venue, the scene of multiple groupings of friends, standing shoulder to shoulder and back to back. As they head for college this September, we salute all members of the Class of 2011 on their graduation!
