Free Seminar: "Having the Conversation: How to Talk to Your Parents about Accepting Help"

Family
First HomeCare will be hosting a free public seminar titled “Having The
Conversation:  How to Talk to Your
Parents about Accepting Help” on January 18, 2012 from 5:30 to 7:00 pm at 374
Speedwell Avenue, Morris Plains.  The
guest speaker is Lucille H. Deutsch, CALA, CMC, Director of Geriatric and
Caregiver Outreach for Family Service of Morris County.   As our parents begin to have difficulties
with the routines of daily life, “The Conversation” becomes unavoidable.  Learn what information gathering needs to be
done in advance of that first communication and learn how to initiate a
dialogue with your parents in a non-threatening way. We will address fears and
anxieties on all sides, share techniques to ensure that no one feels demeaned
or diminished, and help you to work together with your parents to agree on a
proactive plan.  Advance registration for
the seminar is required, to register please call Family First HomeCare at (973)
328-7700.
