Morris Plains Schools Open Parents Forum

Parents and guardians invited to speak with Superintendent Mark Maire Nov. 13.

Have something you want to say to Morris Plains School District Superintendent Mark Maire?

Nov. 13 you will have your chance at the Superintendent's Parent Forum. The forums offer a chance for parents and the community to meet the Superintendent and hear an update on the state of the district. The forums will be four times during the 2013-14 school year and look to encourage open dialogue between parents and the Superintendent.

Maire will facilitate discussions about current issues impacting education and the Morris Plains School District.

“The autumn leaves are changing and the school year is in full swing.  Students and staff have successfully transitioned into the 2013-2014 school year, and we are off to a great start,” Maire said. “These meetings will provide you an informal venue to communicate openly with me regarding pertinent school-related information.”

According to Maire, the Superintendent’s Parent Forums will provide the superintendent a parent/guardian prospective of what the district is doing well and would be appropriate focus areas in the future. Agendas are open with discussions directed by attendees or determined by specific situations involving the Morris Plains School District.

And although the forums are well spaced during the school year, Nov.13, Jan. 27, April 1 and June 3, Maire said no one needs to wait to contact him.

“I am available to meet or speak with you throughout the year,” Maire said. “You do not need to wait for a parents forum to offer feedback or communicate questions or a concern.”

All Forums’ will begin at 7:00 p.m. in the Borough School LMC. Participants will be asked to RSVP a week in advance to Administrative Assistant Susan Vere at svere@mpsdk8.org, prior to the scheduled forums.
