Morristown High School Students Prep for Graduation this Week

The Convent Train Station will remain closed this week through Friday.

Cap and gowns are ready and Morristown High School seniors are ready to turn their tassels at Mennen Arena this Wednesday.

Following the graduation is Project Graduation, an all-night party from 9 p.m. to 4 p.m. at the Hilton Parsippany. Morris School District buses will leave the high school at 9:45 p.m. and will return to the high school by 4:30 a.m. All backpacks will be collected during the sign in period and returned to students upon arrival at the Hilton Parsippany.

The Convent Train Station railroad remains closed through Friday, June 28.

NJ Transit will be replacing the crossing grade at Convent Train Station for access to Sisters of Charity, College of St. Elizabeth, and St. Elizabeth Academy. Access to the St. Elizabeth campus must be made through the Park Avenue entrance. Detour routes will be in place using Punchbowl Road or Danforth Road from Madison Avenue to Park Avenue. NJ Transit service will operate on schedule and there will be pedestrian access to the westbound platform.

Morris Township

Board of Adjustment will meet on Monday at 7:30 p.m. in the Municipal Building

  • Two places are looking to install a back-up generator: 16 Walt Whitman Trail and 10 Westminster Place
  • There will be a public hearing for 54 Normandy Heights, which is a continuation from the May 20 public hearing. The wapplicant ants to continue the shed, have a play set and a generator, which all will create rear and side yard setback.
  • The house at 4 Burnham Place is asking to rent an existing apartment (670 sq ft) within the family home.
  • The homeowners at 10 Pepperidge Road are looking to put in an in-ground pool and patio.
  • 315 East Hanover Avenue wants to reuse its premises for multiple uses and install a freestanding sign
  • McGuire is proposing a deck with roof and chimney.

Morris Plains

  • Board of Adjustment is meeting on Monday at 7:30 p.m. at the Council Chambers at Borough Hall
  • Board of Education will meet on Tuesday at 7:30 p.m. in the Borough School Learning Center.
  • Recreation will meet on Thursday at 7:30 p.m. in the Council Chambers in Borough Hall
