The Morristown High School Colonials ice hockey team proved too powerful
for the Wolfpack of West Morris Central, winning 6-0 in the Halverson Cup finals at Mennen Arena in Morris Township on Thursday. For the first five minutes of the game, the action was evenly-distributed between both teams. But, when Brian Keller scored the first goal, the game quickly became one-sided.
Morristown scored two more goals before the end of the first period to take a commanding 3-0 lead. The second period was scoreless for both teams. But again, an early goal in the third period, this time by Luke Edgerton, opened the flood gates and the Colonials finished with three more goals in the period.

Jordan Klotz scored two of his team’s six goals and, along with teammate Brian Begley (one goal) was instrumental in moving the puck up the ice from defense to offense.

“This was a big game, obviously. We had to play hard. We knew if we stuck to our systems we would come out on top—and we did. They shut us down in the second period but we found our rhythm again in the third period and just kept rolling.” –Jordan Klotz
“We spread our offense around tonight. You want to have an offense that has lots of guys who can score. We did that tonight.” –Coach Bobby Jones1st 2nd 3rd Final West Morris Central 0 0 0 0 Morristown 3 0 3 6
