On the Tuesday before Thanksgiving, the kindergarten students and their grandparents along with other specially invited guests celebrated their annual Thanksgiving Feast at the Mountain Way School in Morris Plains.
According to Principal Lindsay Vieira, the children prepared well in advance for this special event.
"They decorated tablecloths and prepared seasonal songs to sing for their guests while the students’ parents contributed Thanksgiving themed food to eat," Vieira said.
On the morning of the event, students escorted each of the the guests into the school’s multipurpose room, which had been decorated for the event.
"The kindergarten students then started the feast by singing songs to their guests, such as 'I’m So Glad To Be Here' and the 'Gobble Gobble' song," Vieira said.
After the songs, each of the kindergarten students joined their guests for the feast followed by a visit to the students’ classrooms where the children were able to show off their rooms and all of their art projects that adorn the hallways of the school.
"It was a very special morning for the children and their guests," Vieira said.
