Dramatic Comeback For Delbarton LAX Over St. Joe's

Delbarton was outplayed for three quarters in the group semi-final, but there are four quarters in Lacrosse and the fourth quarter belonged to the Green Wave. Five unanswered goals turned a 7-3 deficit to an 8-7 victory.

came into the game as the favorite but St. Joseph's of Metuchen took charge of the game from the start. The Green Wave trailed for almost the entire game.

The fourth quarter started with St. Joe's ahead 7 -3. Could Delbarton score 5 goals to win this semi-final game? Yes, they could!

Getting off on the right foot Patrick Foley scored off a face-off win as the quarter began. Clay Haarman followed that up with an interception as the goalie tried to pass the ball out of the zone. Haarmaan easily beat the goalie who was the only St. Joe's player back.

Peter McMullen, no stranger to big games, scored two goals to tie the game at 7. The first was on a substitution and the second a spectacularly acrobatic shot that had the Delbarton fans going wild.

The Green Wave got possession late in the game and held on for the last shot and Cole Riccardi scored with 2 seconds left. Delbarton moves on to the Group Finals on Wednesday.
