Five Things You Should Know About Rec Programs

Staying in shape in Morris Township is easy with programs sponsored by township recreation

Registration is open now:

1) Men’s Basketball

Men’s Open Gym Basketball will be held on Monday nights at the Sussex Avenue School Gym from 7 p.m to 9 p.m, through  April 16.  Registration fee is $70 per person for the winter-spring season.

2) PeeWee Boys and Girls Basketball

A program for ages 4 through 7 at the Sussex Avenue School.  Starts Saturday, Jan. 7 and runs through March 10, from 8:45 a.m. to 9:45 a.m. 7-year-olds, 10 a.m. to 10:45 a.m.for 4-year-olds, 11 a.m. to 11:45 a.m. for 5-year-olds and noon to 12:45 p.m. for 6-year-olds.   Registration fee per child is $38.

3) Girls Basketball

This instructional clinic program is for girls 8- to 12-years-old who want to learn to play basketball for fitness and fun and develop the basic individual and game-play skills.  Held on Friday nights at Sussex Avenue School starting Jan. 6 and run for eight Fridays from 7 to 9 p.m.  Registration fee is $30 per student.

4) Men’s Indoor Soccer

Men’s open soccer will be held at the Hillcrest School Gym on Tuesday nights from 7  to 9 p.m. (except when the public schools are closed).  Registration fee is $70 per person for the winter-spring season.

5) Boys’ and Girls’ indoor soccer 

An instructional program will improve basic skills and allow informal competition. The program is open to boys and girls in grades 3 through 5 and will be held on Wednesdays at Normandy Park School starting Jan. 11 for 8 weeks from 8 to 9 p.m. Registration fee is $35.00 per child.
