Area Employees Lend a Hand to Interfaith Food Pantry

The volunteers at the Interfaith Food Pantry were among 2,000 Novartis Pharmaceuticals employees that participated in Community Partnership Day at almost 80 non-profits statewide.

The Interfaith Food Pantry in Morris Plains got new garden paths, garden beds for planting more vegetables, flower planters were filled and food was sorted as area employees took a break from office life to give back to the community.

The Novartis Group conducted its 18th Annual Community Partnership Day in which its employees spend a workday helping area organizations.

The volunteers at the food pantry, which is dedicated to providing accessible food and nutrition, were among more than 2,000 participants at almost 80 non-profits statewide.

“Investing in the communities where we live and work is a defining part of the culture and fabric of our company,” said Kevin Rigby, Vice President and US Country Head of Public Affairs at Novartis Pharmaceuticals Corporation.  “This annual day of volunteerism gives our employee teams an opportunity to join hands in service with our outstanding nonprofit partners to help make a positive, long-lasting difference in people’s lives.”
