Dog from Morris Plains' Creature Comfort Cheers Up Seniors

On Monday, Aug. 19, the attendees at SAGE Eldercare’s Spend-A-Day Adult Day Health Center welcomed “Carmen,” a pet therapy boxer. 

Carmen came from Creature Comfort of Morris Plains.  SAGE Eldercare’s Spend-A-Day program in Summit provides a day of social and stimulating activities for older adults in a medically supervised and secure setting during weekdays, according to a press release. 

Also, on Wednesday, Aug. 21 at SAGE Eldercare, Volunteer Susan Haig of Summit entertained and encouraged the Spend-A-Day Adult Day Health Center attendees to sing along with her as she played the piano. The seniors enjoyed Haig’s concert and singing patriotic and popular folk tunes, such as “The Star-Spangled Banner” and “This Land is Your Land.”
