Old Bags Luncheon Benefits Jersey Battered Women's Service

Fashion Designer Jeff Mahshie of Anne Klein will be the guest speaker.

Are handbags your weakness? If so, the Old Bags Luncheon could be the perfect place to come away with a picture-perfect purse, coveted clutch or dream designer bag while supporting a worthy cause.

Starting at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Spring Brook Country Club, guests will have an opportunity to bid on over 200 donated new, vintage and designer handbags that make up the event's silent auction which benefits Morris County's Jersey Battered Women's Service Inc.

Organized by co-chairs Joen Ferrari and Rose-Emily Calo and a committee of 16 Morris County women, the luncheon will feature guest speaker Jeff Mahshie, senior vice president creative director for Anne Klein, The Jones Group, who will address the crowd on the latest styles for fall.

Ferrari said the committee has been "awash in bags," including a Chanel that was only previously used in a runway show as well as two from the St. John collection and another donated by soap opera star Susan Lucci.

Doors open at 11 a.m., offering ample time to view the collection before sitting down for a three-course lunch at 12:15 p.m.

Tickets are priced at $100 and can be purchased here, by visiting Jersey Battered Women's Service's website or by calling 973-267-7520 Ext. 278.
