Although you wouldn't know it by the unseasonably warm weather that has been hovering over the area for the last week, but we are weeks into fall and that means it is time to close out Morris Plains annual Farmer's Market.
This Saturday is
the last day to stock up for the
winter with fruits and veggies, pumpkins, mums, Polish stuffed
cabbage, Hoboken Farms artisan breads, frozen fish, meat, fresh
Patrons may want to purchase and freeze a couple of Mara's pies and cookies or enjoy the last of the pickles and olives. the market also features cold weather gear like mittens, gloves and scarves from the Flying Alpaca Farms stand.
Saturday's denouement also features the Cub Scouts taking order for Holiday Greens. The Moms Club will be offering lemonade to raise funds for Alex's Lemonade Stand for childhood cancer research.
Local artist John Davies will be at the Market painting in acrylics - like what he does and want to try it yourself? Davies is offering a Recreation Course at the Community Center this fall.
The market is located at The Merchant Block of Morris Plains next to the Model Railroad Club Building and runs from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.
