Person of the Year, Bruce Sisler new mayor of Morris Township and Leonard Posey named BOE president also make headlines.

"Bearing true faith and allegiance" was heard quite a bit in Morris Township and Morris Plains this week as as the first full week of 2014 brought in some memorable stories and many reorganization meetings with oaths of office. Here is what you might have missed in our week in review. 

The Morris School District Board of Education named Leonard Posey as their president for the third time while Morris Plains sealed the deal on two returning council members

Morris Township saw fit to install Bruce Sisler as their new mayor and give outgoing mayor Peter Mancuso the title of Mayor Emeritus. 

The Morristown and Morris Township Library was unexpectedly closed when a sprinkler burst on the second floor and our 2013 Person of the year (nominated and chosen by you the reader) was revealed. 

A homeless man who stole a car in Morris Township crashed it after leading police on a chase and unless you were living under a rock, you were following Governor Chris Christie's difficult week, and we were as well. 

Also? It was cold. For real cold.
