MPAC Starlight Ball Celebrates Hollywood's Golden Age

Fundraiser event features special performance by Tony nominee Carolee Carmello.

The Mayo Performing Arts Center's 15th Annual Starlight Ball returns on  Nov. at 6:30 p.m. at the Hilton Short Hills. The ball is The Mayo Center's largest fundraising event of the year.

This year's event celebrates The Golden Age of Hollywood, and will feature performances by Tony Award-nominated Broadway and cabaret sensation Carolee Carmello, as well as MPAC's Performing Arts Company, comprised of two dozen talented aspiring artists between the ages of 12-18. The event is co-chaired by Vicki Malone of Madison and Marylyn McLaughlin of Morristown.

Lord Abbett, an independently owned asset management firm based in Jersey City, and Bernardsville residents Eileen and N. Larry Paragano Sr. are to be honored as well.

Starlight Award Honoree Lord Abbett has been a strong supporter of the Mayo Performing Arts Center for the last several years, and many of the firm's partners have become personal supporters of the Mayo Center. John T. Cunningham Award honorees Eileen and Larry Paragano are being honored for their enthusiastic and generous support and assistance to MPAC over the years.

Eileen is also an active MPAC volunteer who works at over 50 performances each season. Together as Trustees, Eileen and Larry work to support many charitable projects through the Paragano Family Foundation, which Larry founded over 20 years ago.

According to Malone and McLaughlin, the Starlight Ball is a wonderful evening that brings the community together to celebrate the Mayo Performing Arts Center's mission as Northern New Jersey's primary cultural center.

The fundraiser will be a memorable night filled with music, dancing, entertainment, and an exciting auction that will raise funds to ensure that MPAC will continue to offer high quality entertainment in Morristown and enrich the lives of so many children through its esteemed education initiatives, the co-chairs said.

Tickets can be purchased online or by calling the Mayo Performing Arts Center's Development office at 973-539-0345 X 6526.
