Meet Suzanne Dell'Orto, New Morris Plains Resident

There are some new folks in our Patch!

The search for a town with "good schools, a real downtown and an arts community," brought Suzanne Dell'Orto and her family to Morris Plains this year. She, her husband Rob Lawson and their 3-year-old daughter Nina relocated from downtown Jersey City.  "Every time we talked to someone about Morris Plains, we kept hearing about what a friendly community it is." Dell'Orto has a lot on her plate. She is a full time mom, an adjunct professor of graphic arts at Baruch College in Manhattan, and an artist whose work has been exhibited in Canada, Italy and throughout the New York metro area. One of the best things about moving here, Dell'Orto said, was finally having the space for a full art studio. One look at Suzanne Dell'Orto's Web site will …

The former carriage house and stable, circa 1900, has enough room for his metalwork, printmaking and photography pursuits. He can even pull his car inside when he wants to work on it. The individual horse stalls are still in place and  light spills in from multiple windows.  Young grew up in Atlanta and attended Clemson University in South Carolina. Now the 23 year-old is employed by Honeywell in Morris Township as an IT Project Leader in the Specialty Materials Division. Outside of work, much of his attention is directed toward creating art. He started with photography after high school graduation, when he got his first camera. …
