Morris Plains Fire Department Ladies Auxiliary Adapts to Changing Role
Ladies Auxiliary shifts gears to better serve the fire department and the community.
Since 1922, the Morris Plains Fire Department Ladies Auxiliary has provided support for the fire department in a variety of ways. But as times change so do the needs of the neighborhood and the Ladies Auxiliary finds itself adjusting to better serve the community. "Gone are the days where we're really needed on the scene to supply water and snacks to the men," said Connie Geary, member of the Auxiliary and wife of Fire Chief Mike Geary. "The Morris Minute Men do that now so we do a lot of fundraising to support the fire department and help out the community."
