Bank Robbed on Route 10 in Morris Plains

Prosecutor says $5,000 was stolen from JP Morgan Chase.

Authorities are looking for a man caught on camera allegedly robbing the Morris Plains JP Morgan Chase Bank at 1711 Route 10 Monday night. The man, who was described as a black male by the Morris County Prosecutor's Office, allegedly took about $5,000. Surveillance footage from the bank was provided to detectives and shows the man wearing a white sweater, winter hat and sunglasses. According to a release from the prosecutor's office, the bank was robbed at about 6 p.m. and the man fled on foot.  Anyone with information on the incident is asked to contact Lt. The point is there is so much injustice, bank or any robbery should be unnecessary is a "just society", did not the Wall Street Crowd rob the country and get off free and with bonuses to boot. Bail for the so-called dapper bandit, the Warren Township man accused of robbing several Morris County banks, will remain at $500,000, a state Superior Court judge ruled Monday afternoon. Judge Robert Gilson presided over a bail review hearing at Morris County Courthouse for David G. Carroccia, 28, who is charged with four counts of robbery in connection with bank robberies this summer in Parsippany, Lincoln Park and Mount Olive, plus an attempted robbery at a Kinnelon bank, according to Morris County Prosecutor Robert Bianchi. NY Man Accused of Robbing Parsippany Bank

Authorities investigating whether Brooklyn resident is connected to other recent heists.

A New York man was apprehended in Hudson County shortly after robbing a Parsippany bank Wednesday morning, the Morris County Prosecutor's Office said. Stephen L. Smith, 29, of Brooklyn, N.Y., was charged with robbery and theft after allegedly robbing the PNC Bank at 1142 Route 46 West in Parsippany at about 10:50 a.m., the prosecutor's office said. A weapon was not shown during the robbery, the prosecutor's office said. Masked Man Robs Parsippany Bank at Gunpoint, Prosecutor Says

Though it is the fifth bank robbery in the county since July, the description does not match others.

Another bank robbery has taken place in Morris County and Parsippany, according to the Morris County Prosecutor's Office. A man described as black, between 5-foot-10 and 6-feet tall and approximately 220 pounds allegedly brandished a handgun during the incident at Provident Bank on Smith Road at 9:25 a.m., the prosecutor's office said. They also said the man was described as wearing a ski mask, gloves, a jacket, jogging style pants and black sneakers. The well-dressed bandit who robbed a Parsippany bank earlier this month may have struck again Monday. Authorities are looking for a man who did not show a weapon when he robbed the PNC Bank on Route 46 in Budd Lake Monday afternoon, the Morris County Prosecutor's Office said. The robber is described to be a while male in his early 20s, about 6-foot-2 with a slender build, the prosecutor's office said. The man has short dark hair, facial hair and a pronounced nose, the prosecutor's office said. Authorities Seek Alleged Armed Bank Robber

PNC Bank on Route 10 in Randolph was robbed Friday afternoon.

Authorities are seeking a man who allegedly robbed a Randolph bank at gunpoint late Friday afternoon, the Morris County Prosecutor's Office said. According to a statement released by Capt. Jeffrey Paul, a spokesman for Prosecutor Robert A. The man police believe robbed a Morristown Bank of America over the weekend has been located in Queens, NY, according to the Morris County Prosecutor's Office. He's being held there pending extradition to New Jersey. A Morristown police officer had recognized the alleged attempted robber as John B. Gunton Jr., 61, of Morristown, after viewing surveillance footage, the prosecutor's office said. Gunton was charged with one count of second-degree robbery, but was not immediately located. Cops Seek John Gunton in Bank Robbery Attempt

Police officer recognizes man from surveillance images, prosecutor's office says.

Police say they've identified the man who tried to rob a Morristown Bank of America Saturday John B. Gunton Jr., 61, of Morristown. They're currently working to track down Gunton, and seeking the public's help. Morristown Police Officer Brian LaBarre recognized Gunton after viewing bank surveillance photos, according to the Morris County Prosecutor's Office. Police are looking for the 55-to-65-year-old man they say tried to rob Bank of America on South Street in Morristown Saturday. The man entered the bank at about 1:15 p.m, approached a teller and said he was committing a robbery, according to a statement from the Morris County Prosecutor's Office.
