Armed Kidnappers Robbed, Stuffed Woman in Trunk, Prosecutor Says

New Hampshire resident, 71, kidnapped and robbed at gunpoint in Route 10 parking lot.

Two East Rutherford residents have been accused of carjacking and kidnapping a 71-year-old woman at gunpoint from a Parsippany parking lot before stuffing her in the trunk of her car, the Morris County Prosecutor's Office said. Joseph Defreitas, 41, and Marilyn Nadeau, 52, were charged Thursday with kidnapping, robbery, carjacking, conspiracy and credit card theft. Defreitas was also charged with possession of a weapon and possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose. Update: Reward Offered in Carjacking Case

Incident occurred Friday night in Morristown.

Police continue to seek information that will lead to the arrest of a man they say carjacked two individuals in Morristown on June 10, stealing their 2009 Jaguar and taking Union police on a chase into Newark. Now, the Morris County Crimestoppers is letting people know they could receive up to $1,000 for information in regard to the case. Sgt. Laurel Burns, of the Morris County Crimestoppers, issued a press release on Tuesday, naming the Morristown carjacking as a "Crime of the Week." At about 9:20 p.m. on June 10, according to a press release prepared by Morristown Police Detective Lt.
