'Drunk Driving Enforcement' program participation set for 9 p.m. to 3 a.m.
As if you already didn't have plenty of reasons not to drink and drive, the Morristown Police Department would like to offer one more. From 9 p.m. to 3 a.m. on Friday, Dec. 14, Morristown officers will be conducting sobriety checkpoints throughout town as part of the national "Drunk Driving Enforcement" program to stop drunk driving. Through the use of a grant provided by the New Jersey Division of Highway Traffic Safety, officers will be assigned to roving patrols and sobriety checkpoints in order to identify and arrest motorists who are driving while intoxicated, according to a press release.
