A College of St. Elizabeth official said restrictions barring a student facing arson charges from the Florham Park campus were put in place by law enforcement, and school has not yet taken internal action against the student. The defendant, 18-year-old Mykia White-Johnson of Plainfield, allegedly lit two rolls of toilet paper on fire in the bathroom of a fourth-floor dorm. College staff identified the source of the smoke and doused the toilet paper rolls in the sink before police and fire officials arrived, according to a police statement. An 18-year-old student at the College of St. Elizabeth in Florham Park has been charged with arson for allegedly setting two rolls of toilet paper on fire Wednesday night in a dorm bathroom on campus, authorities announced Friday. The student, Mykia White-Johnson of Plainfield, allegedly confessed to starting the fire when she went to Florham Park police headquarters for follow-up questioning on Thursday, according to an arrest affidavit signed by Florham Park Police Det./Sgt. Regional arts program returns with 'Carmen' on Sept. 30.
When the Westfield Symphony Orchestra and New Philharmonic of New Jersey joined forces last year, the intent was to create a program that would cut costs, increase revenue and double audiences. With the success of "Musica Morristown's" inaugural season, its second season has been announced. The program begins Sept. 30 with Bizet's "Carmen," continues with the program's Halloween "Spooktacular" on Oct. 28 and concludes with "New Beginnings" in June 2013. All performances will be held at Dolan Performance Hall at The College of St. Elizabeth.
