Five reasons to shop, starting June 11.

It's that time of year, when homemade mozzarella and ravioli, freshly baked bread and, of course, New Jersey's best cheesecakes, are once again available in downtown Morris Plains. The Morris Plains Farmers Market will reopen for its ninth season on Saturday, June 11 in the parking lot on the Merchant Block across the street from the Plaza Restaurant. Market hours are 9:00 a.m.–2:00 p.m., rain or shine. Goodbye, Morris Plains Farmers Market; See You Next Spring!

Farmers Market closes for the season.

Chilly weather and blustery winds didn't stop Morris residents from coming out for the final day of the Morris Plains Farmers Market on Oct. 16. "My wife keeps telling me, 'You have to go the farmers market! You have to go to the farmers market! Well, it's the last day and I finally made it," said Nick Holihan, who traveled from Denville. Agnes Straley of Chester, bundled in multiple layers, manned the Mara's Cafe & Bakery table. "Mara's my daughter so, I help out," she said. Like the proud mother she is, she continued: "For six years in a row, Mara's cheesecake was voted Best Cheesecake in New Jersey by the Star-Ledger. It's because of the all-natural ingredients.
