5K Frantic Fun Run Planned at Fosterfields

Event to take place on Tues., June 28

A rare opportunity to participate in a run through the historic Fosterfields farm is coming up in June. The second installment of the Morris County Park Commission’s 5K Trilogy, the Frantic Fun Run, is scheduled for Tues., June 28. The Morris County Park Commission announcement reads: Race through history, on a cross-country style trail, blazing through the heart of Fosterfields Living Historical Farm in Morris Township. The event is open to varying skill levels. Beyond a majestic backdrop and rare opportunity to run through the nineteenth-century-style farm, registrants and spectators enjoy raffle prizes, music, and refreshments. Baseball champs included multiple future leaders of the Borough

This picture of Morris Plains' 1927 Intercounty Baseball League Winners is remarkable because it includes the Morris Plains mayor at the time, Richard Lindabury (1927-1929) and three future mayors: R.V.D. Totten (1929-1931), Gerald Coursen (1947-1953) and Jim Fear (1954-1961). Shown in the picture are, first row: Tom Logan, Peanuts McCormack.
