Man Faked Hit-and-Run Story, Charged With DWI, Cops Say

44-year-old man faces charges including filing a false police report, careless driving and leaving the scene of an accident.

A Morris Township man is facing charges of driving while intoxicated and more following a reported hit-and-run accident near Frederick Place March 16, according to a Morris Township Police Department statement. Capt. Richard Ferrone said officers went to a Frederick Place residence to document a hit-and-run collision and found the person who had made the call, 44-year-old Henri Linden, intoxicated. Linden told officers that his vehicle was the victim of a hit-and-run collision in Morristown, the statement said. According to police, however, further investigation showed the collision took place near Frederick Place: The passenger side mirror Linden reported missing was found next to a mailbox that had been struck. Morris Plains Man Killed in NYC Hit and Run Remembered

Some friends and loved ones of Andrew Quinn took to the Internet to pay tribute.

The loss of 22-year-old Andrew Quinn, the Parsippany Hills High School and Cornell University graduate killed early Saturday after being struck by a vehicle driven by a still-unknown motorist on New York City's West Side Highway, is a difficult one for those who loved him. Many have taken to social media to recall a man who, according to his brother Jeff Quinn, who told NJ.com, "He excelled in all areas." One old friend posted a photo of her and Quinn from third grade on Instagram with a caption: "Thank you for everything you did for me during our wonderful friendship. You will never be forgotten. Drunk Hit-and-Run Driver Tracked to His Home, Cops Say

Morris Township man followed home by owner of vehicle he allegedly struck.

A 22-year-old man who was allegedly drunk when he struck a pickup truck and fled the scene was arrested after the truck's owner followed him to his Morris Township home, police said. Ryan Barnett, of Sussex Avenue, was arrested and charged with driving while intoxicated, careless driving, leaving the scene of an accident and failure to report an accident shortly after 2 a.m. on Dec. 23. According to a report filed by officer Adam Khoudja, he and Sgt. Richard Lamperti responded to the Midtown Shopping Center parking lot on Morris Street where a large crowd of people had gathered, telling police they had just seen a dark-colored Cadillac hit a pickup truck and then take off at a high rate of speed.
