AAA Offering Free Towing for Tipsy Drivers in Essex, Morris and Union Counties

Service available to all motorists.

AAA of Essex, Morris and Union counties is offering free “tipsy tows” for motorists who have had too much to drink. Motorists can get a free vehicle tow courtesy of AAA by calling 800-AAA-HELP (222-4357). The service is available year-round, 24 hours a day, seven days a week, and is available to AAA members and non-members alike. The tow and the ride is free for the first 15 miles. A fee of $1 per mile will be charged for every mile beyond that.

First Night Morris 2013: Your Essential Guide

First Night Morris County is almost upon us. Organizers have lined up dozens of entertainment opportunities at about 20 venues throughout Morristown for the family-friendly, no-alcohol, town-wide celebration of the new year. We're also including printable PDFs of the full First Night program, the schedule, and the map—so you might want to keep those handy if you won't have an electronic device to check out on the big night (those printable guides also come courtesy of organizers). Nas Sued for $10M After Concert Promoter Detained

AllGood Concerts CEO and son were trapped in Angola for 49 days because rapper was a no-show.

The Morris Township concert promoter who was trapped in Angola for 49 days on fraud accusations after rapper Nas didn't appear for a series of New Year's Eve shows has filed a $10 million lawsuit against the performer, according to a TMZ report. Patrick Allocco, CEO of AllGood Concerts, a division of AllGood Entertainment and his son, Patrick Jr. were held in Angola for more than a month starting on New Year's Eve on fraud accusations. The two were released Feb. 17 after their travel ban was lifted and American embassy officials escorted them on a flight out of the country. According to the lawsuit filed Friday, Allocco claims to have been beaten and threatened by Angolan promoters while held in the country, according to the article. As a …

First Night Morris 2013 Features New, Familiar Faces

Over 40 performances set for 21st-annual New Year's Eve event in Morristown.

If it's New Year's Eve, you know where Rio Clemente's going to be. Morristown's native son and pianist extraordinaire, "The Bishop of Jazz" has performed at First Night Morris, Morris County's annual alcohol-free end of the year celebration in Morristown since its second year. "That's a pretty long run," the Randolph resident said. So long, in fact, it's hard to remember just how many years that has been. "Even last year, I was trying to figure it out, then the Arts Council (organizers for the event) told me," Clemente said with a laugh.
