Morristown Area: Open for Business

Downtown never lost power, which has drawn many from outside our area.

Morristown's downtown has been open and ready for your business pretty much since the recovery phase of this week's storm began. Greenberry's Closing at End of Day Tuesday

Coffee shop has been on the Green since October 2007.

"Leasing complications" and a "weak economic climate" are being blamed for the sudden closure of Greenberry's Coffee and Tea, which will shut its doors for the last time at the end of business on Tuesday, Jan. 10. Employees of Greenberry's Coffee and Tea, which has been in business on the Green in Morristown since 2007, were informed late Monday night that the cafe would be closing almost immediately. Jason Czura, owner of the Morristown location–which is only one of two New Jersey locations for the Virginia-based franchise–issued a statement late Tuesday morning. "As of Jan. 10, 2012, Greenberry’s Coffee of Morristown will be closing its doors for the last time," Czura wrote in the statement. "After being in business for over four years, …

Two Businesses Bring Patriotic Cheer to Halloween

Liberty Tax Service, Millie's Old World brought "Ms./Mr. Liberty" to Morristown.

Two area businesses got into the Halloween spirit recently, in the spirit of America. "Ms./Mr. Liberty," mascot for Liberty Tax Service, based in Morris Plains, was recently part of a partnership between the tax service and Millie's Old World, a new restaurant slated to open on South Street in Morristown in December. "Ms./Mr. Liberty" could be seen handing out candy, foam crowns and stickers to the Halloween participants in front of the soon-to-be-open location of Millies Old World.  "After a terrible surprise storm, both new businesses thought it would be great to provide more fun and entertainment to the kids of Morristown and surrounding towns who almost had Halloween taken from them," said Diane Goldman, the new owner for Liberty Tax …

The academy, formerly known as the Olive Tree Music Studio, offers lessons on several instruments. According to the business, from June to September of 2010, it was in a one-room dance studio on South Street in Morristown. Next, it was atop Jean Francois Hair Salon, across from the Famished Frog on Washington Avenue. Now, with three practice rooms booked to capacity, the studio is moving to a first floor location twice the size with a parking lot, at 39 East Hanover Ave. in Morris Plains, between Acme and the Mennen Sports Arena. “It’s a really exciting space,” owner Andy Gruswitz said in a statement from the business. “Our favorite thing…
