A Morris Plains man and former Parsippany Boy Scout leader accused in January of showing child pornography to a boy was arrested again Thursday on charges he molested two teenage boys in the 1990s, the Morris County Prosecutor's Office said. Stephen Corcoran, 45, is accused of one count of aggravated sexual assault, multiple counts of sexual assault and one count of endangering the welfare of a child. The charges stem from accusations Corcoran molested a 13-to-16-year-old boy between 1997 and 1998, and another 16-to-18-year-old boy in 1999. Morris Plains resident already facing child porn charges is accused of 'hundreds' of incidents of abuse.
A 30-year-old who says he was victimized as a teen by a Parsippany Boy Scout leader in the 1990s has filed suit against the Boy Scouts of America in Bergen County Superior Court, NJ.com reports. The suit also names Patriots Path Council for placing Morris Plains resident Stephen Corcoran in charge of the scouts, the report said. In January, Corcoran, 44, a former assistant scout master, was arrested and charged with second-degree distribution of child pornography, as well as fourth-degree possession of child pornography, according to Morris County Prosecutor Robert A. A Parsippany Boy Scout leader has been charged with multiple offenses after allegedly showing child pornography to a boy. Stephen Corcoran, 44, of Morris Plains, was arrested and charged Friday with second degree distribution of child pornography, as well as fourth degree possession of child pornography, according to Morris County Prosecutor Robert A. Bianchi According to an affidavit on file with the Morris County Court, the prosecutor’s office conducted an interview with a boy who said Corcoran invited him over to his home in October and showed him child pornography.
