About Prentiss

A writer and blogger living in Morris Township for the past 30 years. Prentiss works in short stories, historical journals and as a freelancer contributes to Gannett Blogs and online magazines as blogger and essayist.  He can be found blogging on home and personal technology in the Domesti-tech Blog on the Daily record site, and some of his essay and commentary can be seen on the international magazine Speak Without Interruption.

Prentiss is the father of three and likes to cook (mostly because he like to eat) and work with new and old technology.  Currently he is restoring a 28 year old cabin cruiser for the same reasons Sir Edmund Hillary climbed Everest, "because it was there"  (and it was cheap, at least that's what I tell my wife).

It's nice to see someone who tries to be thoughtful and mindful of people with dissimilar beliefs on the boards. I'm impressed with the calm, "grown up" tone you take in your responses, especially in the Obama same-sex marriage article. Frankly, I'm not sure how you keep your composure.

It's a shame everyone on comment sections can't figure out how to do this.

Hi Prentiss, just wanted to say thank you for your posts. I am ultra-liberal so we don't necessarily agree but your approach is something I can really respect. I especially respect that you put your whole name out there unlike a lot of people who post from a profile that is "in code" afraid to use their full or even real name...hate that.

Thanks.

Sincerely,Melissa
